In the latest development, police officials have recovered a CCTV footage showing Ajit Prasad and Ravi Tiwari together, intensifying the allegations. According to Ravi Tiwari’s complaint, he was forcibly taken by Ajit Prasad and his companions after leaving a bank, sparking concerns over the involvement of the prominent political figure’s son in a criminal case.

Ajit Prasad is a potential candidate for the upcoming by-election in the Milkipur assembly seat. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ayodhya, Rajkaran Nair, confirmed that authorities are currently investigating call records and mobile phone locations connected to the case. Nair emphasized that legal action will follow once concrete evidence is gathered.

What are the allegations?

Ravi Tiwari alleges that Ajit Prasad and his associates physically assaulted him inside the car before abandoning him near the local tehsil office. He also claims that they extorted ₹1 lakh from him and recorded the incident on video. In addition, Tiwari said he received death threats from the accused.

Awadhesh Prasad responds

Dismissing the charges as baseless, Faizabad MP Awadhesh Prasad has defended his son, attributing the accusations to political maneuvering. He suggested that the case emerged after SP leader Akhilesh Yadav gave Ajit Prasad an unofficial ticket for the upcoming Milkipur by-election. Awadhesh Prasad further alleged that the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was behind the false case, aiming to tarnish his son’s image due to fear of losing the election.

Despite the claims and counterclaims, Ajit Prasad's formal candidacy for the Milkipur seat is yet to be officially announced by the Samajwadi Party.
