New Delhi: AAP leader Sanjay Singh has been granted bail by the Supreme Court in the Delhi excise policy case. This decision came after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) chose not to oppose Singh's bail plea, stating that they have no objection to his release in the case.

What happened during the judicial proceedings?

A three-judge bench comprising Justices Sanjiv Khanna, Dipankar Datta, and PB Varale pronounced the order, emphasizing that the concession made by the probe agency should not set a precedent.

First senior AAP leader granted bail

Sanjay Singh's bail marks a significant development as he becomes the first senior AAP leader to receive regular bail in the money laundering case associated with the defunct liquor policy. Notably, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, former Deputy Manish Sisodia, and former Health Minister Satyendar Jain remain under judicial custody in connection with the same case.

Reactions from AAP

In response to the Supreme Court's decision, a senior AAP leader expressed his sentiments on social media platform X, stating 'Satyamev Jayate,' which translates to 'Truth alone triumphs.'
