A gruesome murder has shocked the city of Gurugram this week. On January 3, police discovered that 27-year-old Divya Pahuja had been killed at a hotel owned by Abhijeet Singh. CCTV footage revealed that Pahuja was murdered in room 111 of Singh's City Point Hotel.

Ex-model in Gurugram murdered - Overview

The footage shows Singh and two accomplices, Prakash and Indraj, dragging Pahuja's body from the hotel room and loading it into the boot of a blue BMW late on the night of January 2. Singh then allegedly paid Prakash and Indraj Rs 10 lakh to dispose of the body, which has yet to be recovered.

3 accused arrested

All three suspects were arrested by the Gurugram Crime Branch after the police launched an urgent investigation. Officers have been conducting raids in Punjab and elsewhere in hopes of locating Ms Pahuja's remains.

The victim's family filed a complaint alleging that the murder was planned by Sandeep Gadoli's sister Sudesh Kataria and brother Brahm Prakash, in collaboration with hotel owner Abhijeet Singh. Gadoli was a notorious gangster who died in a controversial 2016 police encounter in Mumbai that Ms Pahuja was implicated in.

Having previously worked as a model, Pahuja was the prime accused in Gadoli's murder and spent seven years in prison before being granted bail by the Bombay High Court last June. The family claims her killing was an act of revenge by Gadoli's siblings, who allegedly conspired with Singh.

Investigation on!

Police are actively investigating the suspected homicide and an FIR has been registered against the hotel owner and his associates. The Gurugram authorities are determined to get to the bottom of this brutal crime.
