Etawah: Man beats wife to death at in-law's house over suspected affair with THIS family member

New Delhi: In a shocking incident in Etawah district, Uttar Pradesh, a man brutally killed his wife at her in-laws' house, allegedly over suspicions of an illicit relationship with his nephew. The accused, identified as Gulfam, has been arrested following the crime, which took place on Thursday. 

Attack fueled by suspicion of infidelity

The tragic incident unfolded when Gulfam, a resident of Katra Shamsher Khan, suspected his wife Farheen of having an affair with his nephew. According to reports, Farheen had left the house with her nephew, which enraged Gulfam. When she returned home, Gulfam confronted her about her actions. Farheen, however, did not respond, which further infuriated her husband.

In a fit of rage, Gulfam attacked her with a stick, repeatedly hitting her on the neck and head. Farheen sustained severe injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital by her family. Unfortunately, she was declared dead by doctors upon arrival.

Wife fatally beaten in grisly attack

The police were promptly informed about the incident and arrived at the hospital to take the body into custody. After conducting a postmortem, authorities arrested Gulfam. During interrogation, he confessed to the crime, claiming that he suspected his wife of maintaining an illicit relationship with his nephew. Gulfam and Farheen had been married for six years, but due to ongoing disputes, Farheen had been staying at her maternal home.

Gulfam, carrying a stick, went to confront her at her parents' house, which ultimately led to the fatal attack.

Police investigation underway

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sanjay Kumar provided further details on the case. "The accused, Gulfam, assaulted his wife with a stick, leading to her death during treatment. He suspected her of having an affair with his nephew," Kumar said. "We have arrested the husband and are conducting a thorough investigation. Further legal action will follow based on the findings."
