According to the police, the cow protection group members suspected that the victim, Sabir Malik, had consumed beef. The accused—identified as Abhishek, Mohit, Ravinder, Kamaljit, and Sahil—lured Malik to a shop under the pretext of buying empty plastic bottles. Once there, they brutally assaulted him. Despite the intervention of some locals, the accused later took Malik to another location where they continued the attack, ultimately resulting in his death.
The victim, Sabir Malik, was a migrant laborer who lived in a slum near Badhra village and made a living by collecting garbage and waste.
DSP Dheeraj Kumar confirmed that a case has been registered under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. He stated, "The police have actively pursued the case, arresting seven individuals, including two minors. The accused are currently in police custody and are being interrogated."
The incident has sparked outrage, with TMC MP Mahua Moitra taking to social media platform X to condemn the attack. "Haryana's cow protectors killed 26-year-old migrant Sabir from Bengal on suspicion of eating beef. He deserves justice," she wrote. Moitra further accused the BJP of inciting hatred, leading to such incidents.
