Michael Jurcen was riding a hired two-wheeler near Tiger Valley on the Pollachi-Valparai road when he encountered a wild elephant. Other vehicles had stopped, waiting for the elephant to pass, but Jurcen ignored their warnings and continued riding towards the animal. As he approached, the elephant charged and tossed him off the road. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening around 6 pm.

Medical Efforts and Untimely Demise
Despite medical intervention, the tourist succumbs to his injuries. Jurcen was initially treated at Water Falls Estate Hospital and then transferred to Pollachi Government Hospital. Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries at 8:10 pm. Forest Ranger G. Venkatesh stated that Jurcen's decision to ignore warnings and approach the elephant led to the fatal encounter.
