New Delhi: During Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Mumbai, where he inaugurated and laid foundation stones for several development projects, he emphasized the major strides in job creation over the past 3-4 years. He took a veiled jibe at the opposition parties, saying those spreading 'fake narratives' are foes of development and employment.
PM Modi cited a recent RBI report indicating the creation of approximately 8 crore new jobs in the country during the past 3-4 year period. He asserted that these figures have debunked false claims and exposed those hindering development and investment. He stressed that such individuals oppose crucial aspects like investment, infrastructure, and national progress, but their conspiracies are now being rejected by the citizens.
He said, "These individuals oppose investment, infrastructure, and the country's development and are now being exposed. The citizens of the country are rejecting their conspiracies."

During the event, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for projects totaling more than ₹29,400 crore in Mumbai. He highlighted initiatives like the coastal road and the Atal Setu bridge, which have improved connectivity in the city. The Prime Minister recalled how misinformation was spread about the Atal Setu but noted its substantial benefits to daily commuters and fuel savings.
"In Mumbai, the coastal road and Atal Setu have been completed, and you may remember that misinformation was spread about the Atal Setu. Every effort was made to stall it, but everyone is benefitting from it," PM Modi added.
Expressing his vision for Mumbai, PM Modi aimed to position the city as a global fintech capital. He praised Maharashtra's role in India's self-reliance journey, emphasizing its strengths in industry, agriculture, and finance. He outlined his goal to elevate Maharashtra into a leading global financial powerhouse.
Reflecting on his government's commitment, PM Modi said, "My aim is to make Maharashtra the world’s big financial powerhouse and to make Mumbai global fintech capital. People are aware that only the NDA government can provide stability."
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis, and Ajit Pawar were also present at the event.
