Eid-ul-Aadha is being celebrated in all the parts of India.  Muslims are celebrating Eid with all joy and fervour. The timing of celebrations is contigent upon the sighting of the moon following the conclusion of the annual Hajj pilgrimage.

Eid-ul-Adha is observed on the tenth day of Dhu-al-Hijjah the twelth and final month of the Islamic lunar calendar. The timing of celebrations is contingent upon the sighting of the moon following the conclusion of the annual Hajj pilgrimage.

Why Eid is celebrated? 

Eid-ul-Adha is celebrated to commemorate Prophet Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son, Ismail, as an act of obedience and devotion to Allah. At the moment of sacrifice,  Allah replaced Ismail with a ram, which Ibrahim then sacrificed instead. For which Muslims around the world sacrifice a goat or sheep in the spirit of sacrifice. It is believed that even though neither flesh nor blood reaches Allah, the devotion of His servants definitely does.

Hazrat Ibrahim sacrificed his life

According to the Quran, it is said that once Allah wanted to test Hazrat Ibrahim. He ordered Hazrat Ibrahim to sacrifice his most precious thing to him. Hazrat Ibrahim loved his son Hazrat Ismail the most. Following the orders of Allah, Hazrat Ibrahim sacrificed his son.
