Eid, the festival of peace and brotherhood, is being celebrated with great enthusiasm across the country today. Since morning, people are offering namaz in mosques, hugging each other and congratulating each other from the heart. This festival holds special significance for the Muslim community, who eagerly wait for this day and make a lot of preparations for it.

Mosques overflow as Eid prayers begin

Eid is not just a celebration; It is a symbol of love, unity and harmony. In view of the festivals, the administration has tightened security arrangements. Senior officers along with police and paramilitary personnel are staging flag marches in various cities to celebrate the festival in a peaceful manner. On Sunday evening, the atmosphere of happiness started with the sighting of the moon of Eid. Since then, people have been greeting Eid and gathering in mosques to offer prayers.

The timings of Eid prayers in different mosques of different cities are as follows:

  • Delhi's Jama Masjid: 6:45 am
  • Mumbai's Andheri Masjid: 80 am
  • Sambhal's Jama Masjid: 9 am
  • Hyderabad's Mir Alam Mosque: 10 am
  • Lucknow's Aishbagh Eidgah Mosque: 10 am

A large number of people are gathering at mosques to offer prayers and celebrate the festival with joy and solidarity. Do not pray on the streets. The Islamic Centre of India has issued an advisory requesting devotees not to offer prayers on roads and to offer prayers only at the designated Eidgahs. Meanwhile, security has been beefed up in various cities, with police and paramilitary forces on high alert. In Uttar Pradesh, top police officers have been staging flag marches since Sunday evening to ensure law and order. Officials are also appealing to people to be vigilant and not pay attention to rumors.

High alert in UP's Sambhal

A high alert has been sounded in Sambhal in view of Eid, with police and paramilitary forces conducting flag marches in sensitive areas. As many as 1,300 CCTV cameras, seven PAC companies and three RAF companies have been deployed as part of the security measures. Apart from this, drone cameras are also being used for surveillance.

Celebrate the festival with peace and tranquility

It is worth mentioning that there was a dispute between the Eidgah Imam and Qari about offering Eid prayers in Sambhal, after which there was a debate for a long time in Kotwali Sambhal. Both sides were adamant on offering prayers. To resolve the matter, SDM Dr. Vandana Mishra and CO Anuj Chaudhary intervened and reconciled between the two sides. After the talks, it was decided that this year's Eid prayers will be taught by Mufti Azam Sambhal Qari Alauddin. Eventually, both sides agreed and settled the matter peacefully. Along with the police, Muslim clerics have also appealed to the people to celebrate the festival of Eid with peace in the country. The Imam of Lucknow Eidgah, Maulana Khalid Rashid Firangi Mahali, has appealed to the people to celebrate Eid with peace and brotherhood.
