Pop sensation Ed Sheeran continues to captivate fans around the world with his down-to-earth persona and unplanned, memorable moments. Currently in India for his Mathematics Tour, the British singer has left fans in awe once again. After his two stellar performances in Bengaluru, Sheeran took an unexpected break and was spotted riding a scooter with renowned Indian singer Arijit Singh in Jiaganj, located in Murshidabad district of West Bengal. The sight of Sheeran and Singh enjoying a peaceful ride without any security caused a stir among locals, who were taken aback by the simplicity of the moment.
Videos shared on social media platforms such as Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) showcased the two artists riding a scooter together. Arijit Singh was seen driving, while Ed Sheeran rode pillion as they ventured through the dusty lanes of Jiaganj. Accompanied by a few close friends on their scooters, the duo spent approximately five hours exploring the town. According to reports from The Times of India, they cruised from the lively Phulmore area to the tranquil banks of the Bhagirathi River. The duo even boarded a mechanized boat for an hour-long ride on the river at Shibtala Ghat. In an interesting twist, the DIG (Deputy Inspector General) confirmed that Ed Sheeran had requested minimal security for the visit, further proving the star’s unassuming nature and love for spontaneous adventures.

Before the scooter ride in West Bengal, Ed Sheeran had already stunned Bengaluru with an impromptu performance on Church Street. However, the performance was cut short when local authorities intervened, which led to a viral video circulating on social media. Fans were delighted with the unexpected encounter, but the viral incident only added to Sheeran's allure. During his official Bengaluru concert, Ed also surprised his fans by inviting Shilpa Rao on stage. Together, they performed "Chuttamalle," a song which Arijit Singh had previously sung in the Telugu version. This collaboration delighted fans, especially those who follow both singers' work.
Ed Sheeran’s Mathematics Tour has also included performances in Hyderabad and Chennai, where he shared the stage with music legend AR Rahman for a special rendition of the iconic Urvasi Urvasi. As Sheeran’s India tour continues, he will perform next in Shillong on February 12 and Delhi NCR on February 15, where fans are eagerly awaiting another memorable performance.
