Swati Maliwal, who is under fire from the Aam Aadmi Party, addressed accusations made against her by AAP leaders on Monday. She highlighted the transformation in how she was perceived, from being dubbed 'Lady Singham' to being labeled a 'BJP agent.'

Maliwal refuted claims spread by Delhi ministers that she faced an FIR for corruption, insinuating her actions were directed by the BJP. She clarified that the FIR dated back to 2016, long before any recent events, and emphasized that both the Chief Minister and Lieutenant Governor had appointed her as the Chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women twice despite the allegations. Maliwal stressed that the case against her was deemed baseless, with a stay issued by the high court for 1.5 years.

Past allegations

In 2016, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) filed a charge sheet against Maliwal, accusing her of making unlawful appointments in the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) and showing favoritism towards AAP workers.

Maliwal questions about hypocrisy

Maliwal raised questions about the shifting narrative regarding her reputation, highlighting the sudden change in perception following her complaint against Bibhav Kumar. She expressed concern about the tactics employed against her, including attempts to leak personal videos and endanger her family members by revealing their details online.

Despite facing backlash, Maliwal vowed to pursue legal action against those spreading falsehoods. She warned against the consequences of deceit and vowed to uphold the truth.

Recent developments in Maliwal case

Maliwal recently filed an FIR against Bibhav Kumar for allegedly assaulting her during a visit to Arvind Kejriwal's residence in Delhi. The police have taken Kumar into custody in connection with the incident.
By standing up against accusations and maintaining her stance, Swati Maliwal continues to navigate the complexities of politics.
