In a startling development, a former deputy superintendent of RG Kar Medical College, Akhtar Ali, has accused Dr Sandip Ghosh, the ex-principal who resigned following a grave incident involving the rape and murder of a trainee doctor, of engaging in a series of illicit activities. The allegations from Ali have come while giving an exclusive interview with India Today that suggests that Dr Ghosh was involved in the illegal sale of unclaimed bodies.

Claims of Trafficking and Misconduct

Akhtar Ali, who served at RG Kar Hospital until 2023, has revealed disturbing claims about Dr Ghosh's involvement in trafficking biomedical waste and medical supplies to Bangladesh. According to Ali, these accusations were not only made to the state vigilance commission but also played a role in the formation of an inquiry committee tasked with investigating Dr Ghosh. Despite these serious allegations and a finding of guilt, Ali asserts that no concrete actions were taken against the former principal.
