Nevertheless, the discussions never happened. In a by-election held in 2023, Rinku was chosen to represent the Jalandhar Lok Sabha constituency in the Lok Sabha by a margin of 58,691 votes.Rinkus shift from Congress to AAP and now to BJPOn April 23, 2018, Rinku, a former MLA for the Congress, joined the Aam Aadmi Party.
