Double trouble for AAP in Punjab: MP Sushil Kumar Rinku, MLA Sheetal Decamp to BJP

AAP in Jalandhar faces fire!

AAP leaders attempted to talk to Rinku in an attempt to convince him to stay amidst the commotion surrounding his announcement as the Jalandhar AAP candidate joining the BJP. Nevertheless, the discussions never happened. In a by-election held in 2023, Rinku was chosen to represent the Jalandhar Lok Sabha constituency in the Lok Sabha by a margin of 58,691 votes.

Rinku's shift from Congress to AAP and now to BJP

On April 23, 2018, Rinku, a former MLA for the Congress, joined the Aam Aadmi Party. He received his announcement as the AAP's candidate for the Jalandhar parliamentary constituency the next day. After joining the BJP, Rinku is now probably going to run for the Lok Sabha seat on a BJP ticket, according to the sources.
