Mumbai News: A disagreement over Diwali decorations has led to allegations of communal tension in Navi Mumbai’s Panchanand Society, Taloja Sector 9. A video circulating online captured a heated argument between members of two communities after some Muslim residents reportedly objected to the Diwali lights and diyas in shared spaces.

Roots of the dispute

Reports indicate the disagreement stems from an incident in June when Hindu residents raised objections to Muslim residents bringing goats into the premises for Bakri Eid. To address the issue, the society had agreed to restrict all cultural activities in shared areas. However, Muslim residents cited this resolution to argue against Diwali decorations, sparking the recent confrontation.
