UP News: In a shocking case reported from the Kuthaund police station area in Uttar Pradesh’s Orai district, a 19-year-old college student was allegedly gangraped by her tuition teacher and two accomplices on Diwali night. The accused teacher, identified as Sunny Yagnik, reportedly lured the second-year B.Sc. student to his residence on the pretense of studying, where the assault took place. The horrifying details of the incident have not only left the young woman traumatized but have also resulted in a family tragedy.

Incident reported after days of trauma

According to the police, Sunny Yagnik, the main accused, had allegedly been manipulating the student under false promises of marriage. On the night of Diwali, the student said she was called to the teacher’s residence, where Sunny and two friends — identified as Ramu and another unnamed individual — assaulted her. Following the attack, the suspects reportedly issued threats, warning her to remain silent. The student initially concealed the incident out of fear but disclosed the assault to her family on the following Monday after Sunny attempted to contact her again.

The impact of the disclosure was severe. Upon learning about the assault, the student’s grandfather reportedly suffered a heart attack and was immediately rushed to Hallett Hospital in Kanpur. Tragically, he succumbed to his condition, adding another layer of grief for the family grappling with the young woman’s trauma.
