New Delhi: A shocking incident has come to light from the Uttar Pradesh's Lakhimpur Kheri districtwhere families of the deceased have alleged that staff at the post-mortem house demanded money from them to buy diesel for the generator. This shocking claim comes after a power outage occurred while the families were bringing the bodies for autopsy, exposing yet another instance of negligence and corruption within the government system.

Families share their ordeal

Relatives from Nighasan's Majhgai and Shardanagar's Bharatpur voiced their frustration and sadness. They revealed that after bringing the bodies for examination, they faced an agonizing wait. A farmer's body from Bharatpur was sent to the post-mortem house on Tuesday, but by Wednesday afternoon, the examination had still not taken place. The condition of the body had deteriorated significantly, with maggots infesting it, yet the staff appeared indifferent to the distressing situation.

MP calls for immediate action

In response to the crisis, Dhourhara MP Anand Bhadauria visited the post-mortem house. Upon learning about the relatives' plight, he expressed his anger and concern. Bhadauria promised to escalate the matter to the District Magistrate and ensure that strict action is taken against those responsible for the mishandling and insensitivity displayed.
