Ola scooter showroom set on fire (X/Sunanda Roy)
In a shocking incident from Kalaburagi, Karnataka, a dissatisfied customer set an Ola electric scooter showroom ablaze over frustrations with the service provided for his newly purchased vehicle. The customer, identified as 26-year-old Mohammad Nadeem, resorted to drastic measures following an alleged lack of proper customer support.
According to the police, Nadeem, a mechanic by profession, had bought an Ola e-scooter for Rs 1.4 lakh just a month ago. However, within just a day or two of purchasing the vehicle, Nadeem began facing technical issues with the scooter, particularly concerning its battery and sound system.
Frustrated with the vehicle’s performance, Nadeem visited the showroom multiple times seeking repairs. However, he claimed that his grievances were not addressed adequately by the customer support staff. The situation escalated on Tuesday when Nadeem had a heated argument with the staff, culminating in him setting the showroom on fire after dousing it with petrol.

The fire engulfed the entire showroom, destroying six vehicles and multiple computer systems. Visuals from the scene show thick plumes of smoke rising from the establishment as the fire ravaged everything in its path. Authorities estimate the total damage caused by the fire to be around Rs 8.5 lakh.
Kalaburagi police have registered a case, and Nadeem has been taken into custody for his actions. The incident has raised concerns about the quality of after-sales service provided to electric vehicle customers and the extreme lengths to which dissatisfied individuals may go when their issues remain unresolved.
