New Delhi: In a cross-border union, Abbas Haider, son of BJP councillor Tahseen Shahid, from Jaunpur, recently married Syeda Andlib Zehra, a resident of Lahore, Pakistan, via an online video call. The unusual but heartwarming wedding took place due to unforeseen circumstances.

Family ties lead to cross-border love

The marriage was initially arranged a year ago by Tahseen Shahid for his elder son, Mohammad Abbas Haider. Andlib Zehra is the daughter of Shahid’s relative, Syed Ali Zaidi, who resides in Lahore. Despite his attempts, Abbas was unable to secure a visa for Pakistan, delaying the wedding.

Unexpected illness alters wedding plans

In the midst of visa delays, Andlib's mother, Rana Yasmin Zaidi, fell seriously ill and was hospitalized in Pakistan. Faced with these challenging circumstances, both families discussed the situation and decided to proceed with the marriage online to avoid further delays. The virtual wedding was conducted via video call, a creative solution that united the couple across two countries.

The families, while separated physically, celebrated the joyous occasion, reinforcing the idea that love can conquer borders, obstacles, and even bureaucratic hurdles.
