Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal, according to sources from Tihar jail on Monday, has only lost 2 kg while incarcerated and is under constant observation by a medical board from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, or AIIMS. The reply was given a day after the Aam Aadmi Party of Arvind Kejriwal claimed on Sunday that the Bharatiya Janata Party was planning to damage the chief minister's health by putting him in jail and that, as a diabetic, he was not receiving the proper medical care.

AAP's coundrum?

The anonymous sources told media that the jail administration has written to the home department of the Delhi government over the accusations made by AAP leaders and ministers. They said that the narrative being presented "confuses and misleads the public." Arvind Kejriwal had "unexplained weight loss of 8.5 kg" since his incarceration, according to Delhi Cabinet Minister Atishi, who also stated that Kejriwal's blood sugar level has fallen below 50 mg/dL more than five times while he was incarcerated.

Arvind Kejriwal's concerning weight loss

AAP MP Sanjay Singh made a comparable accusation on Monday, stating that the Tihar government has acknowledged Arvind Kejriwal's weight loss. He asserted that if the AAP chief's blood sugar drops as he sleeps, he could get a brain stroke or go into a coma. It is illegal to make any patient's medical report available to the public. The Delhi Chief Minister's medical report has been made public by the jail administration on multiple occasions. This demonstrates that a plot is being developed to interfere with Arvind Kejriwal's life. This needs to be addressed, Sanjay Singh said. Arvind Kejriwal weighed 65 kg on April 1 when he arrived at the prison and 66 kg between April 8 and April 29, according to the health data that was supplied by the Tihar sources. It also stated that he weighed 63.5 kg on June 2, the day he was brought back to prison following a 21-day bond. "His weight was 61.5 kg on July 14. Thus, he effectively shed 2 kilograms.
