A tragic incident has shaken the IIT Patna campus after a third-year B.Tech student from Telangana took his own life by jumping from the seventh floor of a hostel building.

The Incident

On Tuesday, a third-year B.Tech student of Mathematics and Computing at IIT Patna jumped from the seventh floor of his hostel building, resulting in his death. The incident occurred around 11:30 AM, and police were informed shortly after. Despite immediate medical attention, the student was declared brought dead at a nearby hospital. Classmates described him as a bright and cheerful individual who showed no signs of distress the day before the incident.

Protests and Investigation

Following the incident, students gathered on campus to protest and demand a thorough investigation into the circumstances leading to the student's death. Police have deployed additional forces to maintain order and are examining all possible angles, including academic pressure and personal issues. The FSL team has collected evidence, including the victim's phone and other gadgets, to aid in the investigation.
