Dental student held for hiding spy cam in Chennai woman's home

Chennai police have arrested a dental student for allegedly planting a secret spy camera in a woman's bedroom to film her without consent.

The shocking discovery was made on Tuesday when the woman noticed a suspicious blinking red light from what appeared to be an ordinary pen while cleaning her rented accommodation.

Her husband examined the device after returning from work and found it was a covert camera containing disturbing footage of his wife changing clothes.

The outraged couple immediately filed a police complaint following the distressing find in their home where they had lived for years.

Investigators said the spy pen camera was placed by the building owner's son, dental student Ibrahim, who was later arrested.

Police are probing how long the recording had been going on and if other tenants were also targeted in the complex.
