On the topics like governance of the political parties and election funding, Murthy threw light on "nexus between the corporate and the political parties" which he penned "must be stopped".In the foreign intervention chapter, the book documents these incidents as "recent phenomenon within vulnerable democracies" where election results are influenced by interventions by foreign governments or agencies around the globe.

Former Chief Election Commissioner

In the book, he refers to it as a "serious threat".Krishnamurthy was the Chief Election Commisioner (CEC) from February 2004 to May 2005, and his book addresses several issues challenging the electoral politics of the world as well as of India, and has made several recommendations including on rule of law, political party governance, foreign interventions, election management bodies, simultaneous elections, election hatred and violence.

 Traditional types of foreign intervention

In contrast to traditional types of foreign intervention, including military power or economic blackmail, such interventions bring about political result in the intervened state by means of disinformation or misinformation by influencing voting pattern, voter registration and campaign for election…remarkably, scholars and pundits have shown little interest to this topic including necessity and type of countering such foreign interventions.

Public safety and defense of democracy

There is a dire need to work on this for the sake of national security, public safety and defense of democracy itself", foreign interventions chapter said.On the governance of the political parties and election funding, Murthy brought to the limelight nexus between the corporate and the political parties which he penned must be stopped .Like the listed companies, the political parties also must declare their funding every quarter or at least six months, he further added.
