Delhi shivered through another chilly morning on Monday, typical for January as per the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). They predicted less fog with a minimum temperature around 7 degrees Celsius. Daytime highs should reach 22 degrees Celsius.

However, Sunday saw cloudy skies causing temperatures to dip to 6 degrees Celsius. The foggy conditions also led some areas to experience cold day conditions, with the daytime temperature at 18.6 degrees Celsius, three degrees below normal.
Dense to very dense fog affected parts of Uttar Pradesh, with isolated patches in Delhi, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh. Less fog occurred in isolated pockets of Rajasthan, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh.

The IMD forecast drizzles and light showers in Delhi on 31 January and 1 February respectively. Overnight temperatures may also rise to 8-9 degrees Celsius.
Delhi's air quality index (AQI) at Mundka measured PM10 at 290, falling in the 'very poor' category.
The System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR-India) rates AQI for PM10 between 0-50 as 'good', 50-100 as 'satisfactory', 100-200 as 'moderate', 200-300 as 'poor', 300-400 as 'very poor' and 400-500 as 'severe'.
