Delhi to witness light rain today; Here's what IMD predicts for other states

Wednesday is expected to bring partly overcast sky and moderate drizzle in several sections of the nation's capital, according to the weather forecast released by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The regional meteorological center predicts overcast weather for Delhi on Saturday based on its forecast from Wednesday.

The Regional Meteorological Centre released a seven-day weather forecast bulletin on Tuesday, and the prognosis for Wednesday was a partly overcast sky with a chance of drizzle in one or two spots.The Regional Meteorological Centre predicts that on Wednesday, Delhi's highest temperature will be 31 degrees Celsius.

Delhi forecast

The national capital is forecast to experience a high temperature of 31 degrees Celsius on Wednesday and a low temperature of 14 degrees Celsius, according to the Delhi RMC. On March 16, the Met Department predicts overcast weather.

The India Meteorological Department has shared that the 13th and 14th of March will have quite low temperatures. However, there will be a trend toward an increase in the maximum temperature when this western disturbance passes. Summer temperatures will naturally rise because the sky will be clear and there won't be any significant precipitation.

As the temperature reached 31.4 degrees Celsius on Monday, it was Delhi's warmest day of the year. It reached a high of 28.4 degrees Celsius the day before.

Air Quality Index

According to IMD, the city's minimum temperature on Tuesday was 14.2 degrees Celsius, which is somewhat lower than the seasonal average. At 9 am, the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) classified the city's Air Quality Index (AQI) as "poor" after recording it at 183 for the day. 

(An AQI of 0–50 is regarded as acceptable, 51–100 as satisfactory, 201–200 as moderate, 201–300 as bad, 301–400 as extremely poor, and 401–500 as severe.)

IMD's forecast report:

North India forecast

The IMD, citing a "western disturbance," has predicted a broad area of light to moderate rain on Wednesday in a few states in North India and the northeast.

The IMD's meteorological report from Tuesday night also predicted isolated to scattered light rainfall for Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Northwest Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan on Wednesday.

Wednesday's IMD forecast calls for mostly light to moderate rainfall or snowfall over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, along with isolated instances of thunderstorms, hailstorms, and lightning in the Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, and Muzaffarabad region. It is anticipated that following that, both the distribution and intensity will decline.

West India forecast

From Wednesday through Sunday, Gangetic West Bengal is likely to get rain. whereas Odisha is probably going to have rain between Thursday and March 18. From Saturday to March 18, there is likely to be rain in Jharkhand, East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh; on March 18, there will be the highest rainfall in West Madhya Pradesh.

Northeast India forecast

Over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, isolated to scattered light rainfall is predicted until Thursday. On Saturday, a similar trend is expected.

Over the next seven days, Arunachal Pradesh is also predicted to get isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall or snowfall. Over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura, isolated light rain is expected through Friday.
