Delhi-NCR Weather Update: March has ushered in a change in weather dynamics across Delhi-NCR, marking a transition from the cold spells of February to the onset of warmer temperatures. The recent meteorological fluctuations have kept residents on their toes, with Friday registering as the hottest day of the season thus far.
Following a scorching Friday, where temperatures soared above 29 degrees Celsius, anticipation for rain lingered throughout the day. The Meteorological Department hinted at the possibility of rain, issuing an orange alert for Saturday amidst expectations of light showers accompanied by strong winds.
Friday's maximum temperature peaked at 29.6 degrees Celsius, surpassing the seasonal average by three degrees. Conversely, the minimum temperature settled at 10.8 degrees Celsius, indicating a two-degree increase from the norm. Saturday's forecast suggests cloudy skies with the likelihood of light rain, potentially driving the maximum temperature down to 24 degrees Celsius.
The forecast attributes the inclement weather to the influence of Western Disturbance, precipitating thunderstorms and rain across both hilly and plain regions. Anticipated rain intensification is expected post-noon on Saturday, shaping the weather dynamics over the weekend.
As winter wanes and temperatures rise, the Commission for Air Quality Management has lifted the initial phase of GRAP Restrictions on account of improving air quality. Despite this progress, pollution levels in Faridabad remain moderate, with the air quality index recorded at 157 on Friday.
The recent lifting of restrictions marks a pivotal shift in pollution management efforts, reflecting improved air clarity and warmer weather conditions. With light rain anticipated in the coming days, there is optimism for further reduction in pollution levels.
Faridabad, in particular, has experienced an uptick in temperatures, with Friday recording a minimum of 13 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 26 degrees Celsius. Light rainfall is anticipated in the district until March 3, offering respite from the prevailing weather conditions.
As the region braces for impending rain showers, the expectation is for a gradual decline in pollution levels, further enhancing environmental quality and fostering a more favorable living environment for residents.
