New Delhi: AAP leader Manish Sisodia, recently granted bail by the Supreme Court, made a notable appearance at Rajkiya Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya in West Vinod Nagar on Tuesday. This visit, alongside Delhi education minister Atishi, marked his first public interaction since his release in the Delhi excise policy case.

Students warmly greeted Sisodia by tying rakhis to the former education minister. Sisodia, who was released after 17 months in custody, praised the Constitution for ensuring his freedom, stating that it was the power of the law that secured his release. Before his arrest by the CBI in February 2023, Sisodia held multiple portfolios, including education, finance, excise, and health, while serving as the deputy to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Atishi and AAP's take on the scenario

On the day of his release, Atishi lauded Sisodia as the "father of Delhi’s education revolution" during the inauguration of a Sarvodaya Co-Ed School in Dwarka. She noted, “The day when Manish Sisodia got bail, the school, the foundation of which was laid by him, is being inaugurated,” adding that the new school surpasses the standards of private institutions in Delhi.

Following his release, Sisodia has been actively meeting AAP leaders and visiting temples as part of the preparations for the upcoming assembly polls in Delhi and Haryana. He convened a high-level meeting with AAP leaders at his residence on Sunday and met with volunteers from his Patparganj assembly constituency on Monday to address key issues.

The AAP is set to launch its campaign in Delhi with a padyatra led by Sisodia on August 14, focusing on the BJP's alleged obstructionist tactics. Delhi's assembly polls are anticipated in early 2025, with the AAP aiming to replicate its 2020 success, where it secured 62 out of 70 seats.
