A bizarre and potentially dangerous incident has come to light, where a Delhi man drove with a traffic cop on the bonnet of his vehicle, it raises serious concerns about safety and respect for law enforcement. While it's fortunate that no one was injured, such reckless behavior undermines the authority of traffic regulations and puts both the officer and other road users at risk.
According to the sources, the event happened on Friday in Punjabi Bagh, West Delhi, and was captured on camera. As per sources, the video showed the traffic policeman hanging onto the bonnet of the speeding car while his cap peeks above the roof. The irate police officer on the bonnet was seen yelling at the driver when the car eventually stops.
The video also showed the other police officer, who was pursuing while riding a pillion on a bystander's two-wheeler, arriving at the scene, opening the car door, and holding the driver's hand.
Despite being very angry, the car driver was left off after being challan.
It is worth noting that the decision to let the individual off with just a challan might seem lenient considering the gravity of the situation. It's essential for law enforcement agencies to uphold the law firmly and ensure that individuals who endanger others face appropriate consequences for their actions. Otherwise, it could send the wrong message and encourage further disregard for traffic laws and the safety of others on the road.
