Delhi LG, VK Saxena (ANI)
New Delhi: Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena has mandated increased police presence throughout the city. He has directed the Police Commissioner to develop a comprehensive plan to ensure ample visibility of police officials. This initiative aims to bolster security measures and reassure the public.
As part of the directive, the LG has instructed the Police Commissioner to compile a list of senior officers tasked with overseeing police deployment and visibility. This list will include a duty chart detailing each officer’s assignment along with their contact information. These details are to be submitted to the LG Secretariat for ongoing monitoring, emphasizing the importance of accountability within the police force.
In a bid to further enhance compliance, the LG has suggested the formation of teams consisting of senior officers in plain clothes. These teams will be responsible for inspecting various areas and reporting on the effectiveness of police deployment. This approach aims to ensure that officers are present where they are needed most, and any negligence in enforcement will be treated with serious consequences.
VK Saxena has emphasizes the critical nature of this initiative, stating that any laxity in police presence will not be tolerated. The LG Office highlighted that maintaining public safety is a top priority, and the police must be proactive in their duties to prevent any potential security issues.
The implementation of these measures reflects the government’s commitment to enhancing law and order in the capital. As Delhi prepares for upcoming events, the LG's proactive stance is designed to foster a safer environment for all residents and visitors.
