Delhi LG directs Commissioner to ensure ample police visibility across city

New Delhi: Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena has mandated increased police presence throughout the city. He has directed the Police Commissioner to develop a comprehensive plan to ensure ample visibility of police officials. This initiative aims to bolster security measures and reassure the public.

As part of the directive, the LG has instructed the Police Commissioner to compile a list of senior officers tasked with overseeing police deployment and visibility. This list will include a duty chart detailing each officer’s assignment along with their contact information. These details are to be submitted to the LG Secretariat for ongoing monitoring, emphasizing the importance of accountability within the police force.

Implementation of plain clothes teams

In a bid to further enhance compliance, the LG has suggested the formation of teams consisting of senior officers in plain clothes.
