Crime News: Delhi Police have arrested two individuals connected to the fatal shooting of a 32-year-old patient inside the Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital. The victim, Riyazuddin, was attacked in ward number 24 of the hospital. According to police, the attackers had intended to kill a rival gangster linked with the Hasim Baba gang.

The rival, who had also been shot previously, was admitted to the same ward. However, the attackers mistakenly targeted Riyazuddin, who was lying on the bed opposite to the intended target.

Two suspects, Faiz (20) and Farhan have been arrested in connection with the shooting. Faiz was arrested in Uttar Pradesh's Loni, while Farhan was captured in Delhi. According to the police, CCTV footage and technical surveillance identified four individuals involved in the attack. However, it is believed that Faiz and Farhan did not fire the shots but were involved in providing a motorcycle to the shooters.

Key suspects still at large

The main mastermind behind the murder, Faheem alias Badshah Khan, and the 18-year-old shooter remain at large. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Surendra Choudhary stated, "We are interrogating Faiz and Farhan and will take their police remand to gather more information about the shooter. Our teams are working tirelessly to apprehend the remaining suspects."

Multiple police teams have been formed to investigate the case and track down the culprits. "Our teams are working round the clock to nab the rest of the accused. They will be caught soon," assured DCP Choudhary.

Doctors strike over security concerns

In response to the gang-related violence, doctors at Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital have called for an indefinite strike. The Resident Doctors' Association (RDA) expressed frustration over the lack of security measures despite repeated appeals to the city government. "The safety and welfare of all hospital staff, patients, and their attendants are our top priorities," an RDA representative stated.

Government response

Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj reacted to the shooting by promising a comprehensive security review of all hospitals in the city. "No negligence will be tolerated," he affirmed.
