The Delhi High Court on Thursday dismissed a petition by former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief and ex-BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, seeking to quash a sexual harassment case lodged against him. Singh contended that the investigation was biased, claiming that only the victims accounts, driven by a desire for revenge, were considered. He argued that the chargesheet was filed without thoroughly examining the veracity of the allegations against him.Claims of False AllegationsSingh has maintained his innocence, asserting that he has been falsely implicated in the case. He stated that the alleged offences, which include sexual harassment, intimidation, and outraging the modesty of women, were not committed by him. On May 21, 2023, a trial court had framed these charges against him.Additional Charges Against Co-AccusedThe trial court also framed a charge of criminal intimidation against Vinod Tomar, a co-accused in the case and former assistant secretary of the WFI.The Delhi Police registered an FIR against Singh following the intervention of the Supreme Court in May 2023, which led to the current legal proceedings.
