As Delhi approaches its upcoming elections, exit polls have predicted a historic return of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to power after a 27-year hiatus. However, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has strongly dismissed these claims, insisting that Arvind Kejriwal will once again take the oath as Chief Minister for the fourth consecutive time. AAP's national spokesperson, Reena Gupta, responded to the exit polls, emphasizing the party's strong performance in past elections despite similar forecasts.

AAP dismisses exit poll results

Reena Gupta confidently rejected the exit poll results, stating, "No matter which exit poll you refer to, whether it's from 2013, 2015, or 2020, they always predicted fewer seats for AAP. However, in reality, the party secured more seats." She also highlighted AAP’s remarkable victories in the 2015 and 2020 elections, where the exit polls had underestimated the party’s strength. Gupta stressed that these past results should serve as evidence that exit polls do not accurately reflect the true sentiment of the voters.

Despite the predictions of a BJP landslide in the exit polls, two specific polls, Mind Brink and Vpreside, forecast that AAP will secure a third consecutive victory. Mind Brink estimates AAP will win between 44 to 49 seats, while Vpreside predicts the party will claim between 46 to 52 seats. These predictions suggest a continued stronghold for Kejriwal’s leadership in the capital.

AAP’s confidence in voters' support

AAP leaders believe that the citizens of Delhi are satisfied with the party’s policies and developmental work, and they remain confident that Kejriwal will once again be chosen as Chief Minister. Dismissing the exit polls, the party insists that its actions will speak louder than the predictions.

Kejriwal's faith in the people of Delhi

Commenting on the reliability of exit polls, Somnath Bharti stated, "We’ve seen how exit polls fared in the general elections, where BJP was expected to win over 400 seats but ended up with just 240. My own ground-level exit poll suggests that AAP will perform better than last time, and Kejriwal’s government will return with a massive mandate to fulfill promises made to the people of Delhi."
