New Delhi: Delhi is bracing for the Assembly Election results on February 8, 2025, after a high-stakes campaign. Exit polls suggest a tight race between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), with the Congress also vying for gains.

Exit Polls Predict BJP Victory

Several exit polls indicate a BJP victory, potentially ending AAP's dominance, while some suggest a close contest. AAP, however, remains confident in securing a majority and forming the government for a fourth consecutive term with Arvind Kejriwal as Chief Minister. Exit poll results have varied, with one poll projecting BJP winning 45-55 seats, while another forecasts AAP securing 46-52 seats.

AAP Alleges Poaching Attempts by BJP

Amidst the anticipation, AAP has accused the BJP of attempting to poach its candidates. The Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) has launched a probe into these allegations, serving a legal notice to Arvind Kejriwal seeking evidence to support the claims. This development has added a layer of political drama as the counting day approaches.

Counting Day Preparations

The counting of votes will commence at 8 AM across all 70 constituencies. Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) are securely stored in strong rooms, with necessary arrangements made to ensure the safety and security of the polled EVMs and VVPATs. The Election Commission of India will provide real-time updates on its official websites.

Key Candidates and Constituencies

The electoral battle features key candidates in various constituencies, including Arvind Kejriwal (AAP) contesting against Parvesh Verma (BJP) and Sandeep Dikshit (Congress) in the New Delhi constituency. Atishi (AAP) is competing against Alka Lamba (Congress) and Ramesh Bidhuri (BJP) in Kalkaji.

Past Performance

In the 2015 Assembly polls, AAP secured a landslide victory, winning 67 out of 70 seats. The party formed its government again in 2020, winning 62 seats. As the counting day approaches, all eyes are on whether AAP can maintain its stronghold or if the BJP will reclaim power after nearly three decades
