The voting for the Delhi Legislative Assembly elections has officially concluded, with the polls running until 6 PM across the 70 constituencies of the national capital. As of 5 PM, approximately 58% of eligible voters had cast their ballots. A total of 1.56 crore voters participated in deciding the fate of 699 candidates, and their choices are now locked in the EVMs (Electronic Voting Machines). The results of this election will be announced on February 8.

AAP’s bid for third term

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is aiming for a third consecutive term in power, continuing its push to strengthen its position in Delhi. Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress are both actively contesting for control, with the BJP hoping to break its 25-year-long absence from power in Delhi. Congress, on the other hand, has struggled to regain its footing after ruling for 15 years, failing to win a single seat in the last two elections.

Fierce competition among major parties

This time, all three major parties—AAP, BJP, and Congress—have put their full effort into the elections, with each striving to capture the support of Delhi's voters. As the political landscape heats up, the competition is set to be fierce.
