Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, in an interview, responded to a question about some of her inflammatory social media posts in the past. "Everyone has a maturation and growth process. Maybe when I was younger, I did not know how to handle my words so much." "As I grew up, I must not have shown that much maturity in my work. It is something that happens in everyone's life, I am no exception. I am not a well-trained chief minister who can never make mistakes. I have made mistakes numerous times.".
Taking an example, CM Rekha stated that I delivered a speech in the state assembly and in the middle of the story while speaking, the term 'Thulla' escaped my lips. "I never meant to insult any police officer or soldier. I have great respect for all police officers and soldiers serving the nation 24 hours.".
In an interview with news agency she added, "I show my respect to all the soldiers and policemen. They work day and night, giving up sleep, food and family and are always on call at every tip.
"At times, we might do something wrong, but never will we do it intentionally. At some point in time, we should realize it and know that it was not correct.".We must embrace our errors and learn from them, which I always do. "I don't see anything wrong in admitting my errors. I accept them and make sure to do better in the future."
Earlier, CM Rekha Gupta had called Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav a 'toti thief'. Reacting on Rekha Gupta's statement, Akhilesh Yadav lashed out, "It is important to listen to Rekha Gupta's remarks, from where does she get the temerity to make such remarks?"
It is not for the first time that he made such insulting words for Arvind Kejriwal.
