Blast Near Delhi School: A high-intensity explosion occurred near the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) school in the Prashant Vihar area of Rohini, Delhi, early Sunday morning. While the blast caused some damage to the school's boundary wall, nearby shops, and a parked car, authorities have confirmed there was no fire or significant damage to the main structure of the school or surrounding buildings.

Police officials reached immediately

The explosion was reported around 7:50 AM, prompting an immediate response from emergency services. Fire engines, a bomb squad, and a forensic team were quickly dispatched to the scene after receiving a call from the fire department. Fortunately, there were no injuries, but authorities are thoroughly searching the area to ensure public safety.

Delhi Fire Services (DFS) confirmed that two fire engines were sent to the location as soon as the call came in. Senior police officials, including members of the crime branch and Delhi Police's Special Cell, also arrived to assess the situation.

A senior police officer at the site stated, “Our forensic team and crime unit are collecting samples from the blast area. While it could potentially be from a firecracker, all possibilities are being thoroughly explored.”

Police investigation underway

Authorities are now combing through CCTV footage from the vicinity to identify any leads on the cause of the explosion. According to an official statement from the police, a PCR call was received at 7:47 AM reporting a loud explosion.

"Officers found that the blast had damaged the school wall, caused a foul odor in the area, and shattered the windows of nearby shops and a parked car. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported," the statement read.

SWAT and Aati-Terror Squad involved

As a precautionary measure, a bomb disposal squad and other specialized units, including the SWAT team and forensic experts, have cordoned off the area. Investigations are ongoing, and the cause of the blast has not yet been determined.

Delhi Police’s Anti-Terror Squad, along with several high-ranking officials such as Special CP Special Cell R.P. Upadhyay, Additional Commissioners Pramod Kushwaha, Rajiv Ranjan, and Lalit Mohan Negi, are present at the scene. The National Security Guard (NSG) and SWAT commandos, along with approximately 200 police officers, have also been deployed to ensure safety and assist in the investigation.

The authorities are leaving no stone unturned in investigating the cause of the blast.
