A senior officer of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) revealed on Wednesday that a 24-year-old man was detained at the Delhi International Airport for allegedly attempting to travel to Canada while disguised as an elderly person. The passenger, identified as Gurusevak Singh, was intercepted on Tuesday evening at Terminal 3 of the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport and subsequently handed over to the Delhi Police.

According to the officer, the CISF personnel initially became suspicious of the individual due to his unusual behaviour. When approached, the passenger presented a passport identifying him as 67-year-old Rashvinder Singh Sahota. He was reportedly preparing to board an Air Canada flight departing from Delhi.

Discrepancies in Appearance

The officer detailed the inconsistencies that led to Singh's detention: "The man's appearance, voice, and skin texture did not match the details provided in the passport and appeared to belong to a much younger individual. Upon closer inspection, it became evident that he had dyed his hair and beard white and was wearing glasses to appear older."

True Identity Revealed

Further interrogation uncovered the passenger's true identity as 24-year-old Gurusevak Singh. A photograph of a passport under his real name was also found on his mobile phone. Given the nature of the offense, involving a fake passport and impersonation, Singh was handed over to the Delhi Police along with his belongings for legal action.
