The first-year student of West Bengals Jadavpur University who fell from his hostels second-floor balcony two weeks back, the investigation now has revealed that the deceased was paraded naked in the corridor just minutes before he committed suicide, said Kolkata police.The deceased family alleged that he was a victim of ragging and sexual harassment.What investigation says nowAccording to the investigations, the teen was sexually molested and the arrested 12 accused, including the current students and alumni, had played active roles in the entire depressing episode leading to Nadia teens death, said a senior police official.Only one of the arrested people did not play an active role, he said.Probe says sexual molestationBriefing about the investigation, the officer told news agency PTI, “The teen was definitely ragged and sexually molested. He was paraded naked in the corridor after he was forced to undress in room No. 70. We have evidence. Those 12 arrested have played some role in the whole episode.”During the probe, the police also got hold of a WhatsApp group created by one of the accused, said the officer, adding that the group was created to misdirect cops.“Probe also revealed that the arrested accused had planned to misdirect police so that the ragging part could be concealed,” he said, adding that a local court on Tuesday allowed their prayer to add Section 4 of WB Prohibition of Ragging in Educational Institutions Act 2000.Investigation is still on!Further, the police questioned the hostels cook to find more information regarding the August 09 incident.Apart from the 12 arrested accused, two other students of the university have been summoned by the police for questioning in the link to their probe.
