New Delhi: A distressing video posted by the Samajwadi Party Media Cell reveals a dead and rotting cow abandoned on a riverbank in Uttar Pradesh. The footage, which has quickly gained traction online, has ignited a firestorm of criticism against Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and his administration. The video starkly contrasts with the government's public claims of being a strong advocate for cow protection.

Allegations of corruption and mismanagement

The Samajwadi Party’s post has accused the BJP-led government, under Yogi Adityanath’s leadership, of severe mismanagement and corruption in its cow protection programs. The video’s unsettling content is used to highlight allegations that funds meant for cow shelters are being misappropriated. Critics argue that instead of improving conditions for cattle, these resources are being squandered, failing to address the true needs of animal welfare.

The post sharply criticizes the administration, stating, "This is the state of the rule of the so-called and self-proclaimed, very big cow protector CM Yogi Adityanath." The stark imagery of the decaying cow serves as a powerful symbol of what the opposition describes as the government’s failure to uphold its promises.

Take a look at the video:

Netizens' reaction to the post

A user of X platform named Pooja Goswami wrote in Hindi, very sad But this cow has been swept away by the flood waters. There is no doubt that Yogi ji is a great cow protector Because during the Samajwadi government cows were sent to the slaughterhouse Today cow protection centres have been established in UP.

Another user of X platform named Sarita Sidh wrote in Hindi, Yogiji has built a cowshed for stray animals The public is totally indifferent and hence it is being ignored! There is no lack of administration, there is lack of awareness!.

A third user of X platform named Pooja wrote in Hindi, You are making a video, if you had called and informed the administration they would have taken it away, but you have to do politics.

A fourth user of X platform named Zeenat Rana wrote, "Corrupt and misguided SP workers only want to do politics. If they are in power, they will loot, if they are in opposition, they will spread lies. The person who was making the video should have informed the administration."
