Cyclone Michang: Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP supremo, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, accused the state government of a "miserable failure" in providing essential assistance, including shelter, food, and water, to the victims of Cyclone Michang.

In a press note, Chandrababu Naidu stated, "The Government is not prepared to prevent the damage caused by the cyclone and did not even extend any kind of assistance to the flood-hit." He alleged a lack of basic necessities like food for the people in flood-hit areas, with no response from the government.

Teleconference with Party Leaders

The TDP leader held a teleconference with over 12,000 party leaders and activists across the state to assess the impact of the cyclone and inquire about conditions in their respective areas. He directed party members to provide assistance to cyclone victims, including the supply of food and water, without relying on government aid.

"The TDP, be it in power or Opposition, always stands by the people, and at this crucial juncture, we all should extend help to the affected," Chandrababu Naidu emphasized.

Criticism of Government's Claims

Chandrababu Naidu criticized the state government, stating that despite advanced knowledge of the cyclone's severity, it failed to alert the public. He asserted that the government's actions fell short of its claims, and the ground reality confirmed this failure.

During previous cyclones like Hud Hud and Titli, the former chief minister recalled that the TDP government had issued separate Government Orders (GOs) to provide assistance to farmers. He highlighted the contrast, stating, "The TDP stood by the farming community during the crisis."

The allegations from Chandrababu Naidu reflect a broader concern about the government's response to the recent cyclone and its impact on affected communities.
