CWC Meeting: In a resolute stance, the Congress Working Committee (CWC) strongly denounces the suspension of 143 INDIA party MPs from both Houses of Parliament. The suspension, stemming from their demand for a Home Minister statement on the December 13th, 2023, events and the role of the BJP MP from Mysuru, is seen as an attempt to stifle opposition during the passage of contentious criminal justice laws.

The CWC declared its commitment to fight the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections vigorously, both independently and as part of the INDIA bloc.

Defiance in the Face of Suspension

Expressing its strongest condemnation, the CWC highlights that the suspension was orchestrated to silence dissent and impede opposition scrutiny of the Modi Government's legislative agenda. The MPs' demand for accountability in the Lok Sabha breach incident is deemed essential, and the CWC vows to confront the BJP and its allies resolutely.

Election Preparedness and Financial Strengthening

As preparations for the Lok Sabha polls gain momentum, the CWC acknowledges the significance of the upcoming 'Hain Taiyyar Hum' rally in Nagpur, scheduled on its Foundation day. The Congress President's state-wise reviews and the initiative to bolster the party's finances through public participation are recognised as crucial steps. Each CWC member is committed to sustaining this effort, ensuring financial stability in the face of political challenges.

Challenges Facing the Nation

Highlighting the pressing issues facing the nation, the CWC points to widening economic inequalities, rising essential commodity prices, and a youth job crisis. It underscores the disparity between the Prime Minister's claims and ground realities. Social polarization is identified as a deliberate electoral strategy, threatening democracy and citizens' constitutional freedoms.

Call to Action: Unite, Hope, and Campaign

In the face of these challenges, the CWC calls upon all members of the organisation to stand united, infused with hope and confidence. It urges dedicated and disciplined participation in the upcoming election campaign, emphasising the need to address critical issues affecting the citizens of India.

In this pivotal moment, the CWC affirms its commitment to democratic principles and vows to protect the rights and freedoms enshrined in the Constitution, setting the stage for a spirited and principled electoral battle.
