Owaisi criticizes CAA implementation, explains chronology

AIMIM's chief, Asaduddin Owaisi took to X (Twitter) to express his concerns regarding the timing and intent behind the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) implementation. He stated in his tweet that , before the election season arrives, the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) rules will be enforced. Our objections to the CAA remain unchanged. The CAA is divisive and reflects the ideology of Godse, aiming to marginalize Muslims.

Furthermore, he explained that providing asylum to persecuted individuals is crucial, citizenship should not be determined by religion or nationality. The government should clarify why it delayed implementing these rules for five years and why it is doing so now. Together with the National Population Register (NPR) and National Register of Citizens (NRC), the CAA is designed to target Muslims exclusively and serves no other purpose. Those who previously protested against the CAA, NPR, and NRC will inevitably oppose them again.
