UP Paper Leak: In a significant development in the Uttar Pradesh Police exam paper leak case, the Special Task Force has sprung into action, deploying three teams to tackle the issue. The recent arrest of Neeraj, a prime suspect residing in Ballia, marks a breakthrough in the investigation. Neeraj stands accused of transmitting the leaked paper via WhatsApp, implicating him in the widespread scandal that has affected Agra, Mathura, Pratapgarh, and Ballia. While unverified reports suggest that a Mathura-based teacher supplied the answer sheet to Neeraj, official confirmation is pending.

Relief Measures for Students

Following the uproar sparked by the leaked exam paper scheduled for February 18, 2024, students voiced their grievances, demanding justice. Responding decisively, the Yogi Adityanath government swiftly annulled the tainted examination and mandated a retest within the next six months. In a bid to alleviate the burden on students, the government has waived all re-examination fees. Additionally, students will enjoy complimentary travel on UP Roadways buses on the day of the retest to facilitate their commute to the examination centres.

Political Backlash

The revelation of the exam paper leak prompted swift condemnation from opposition leaders, with former Chief Minister Rahul Gandhi and Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi leading the charge against the Yogi government. Akhilesh Yadav criticized the government's failure to maintain law and order, highlighting the gravity of the situation by remarking that the administration's purported zero tolerance policy had effectively become null and void in light of the paper leak scandal.
