Crime News: In the early hours of Saturday, near Mahu-Chopta village in Ferozepur Jhirka, Haryana's Nuh district, a violent clash erupted between cow protectors and alleged cow smugglers. It resulted in grave consequences for Sonu Sarpanch, a victim of the confrontation. This incident has sparked outrage and calls for enhanced security for cow protectors in the region. The dramatic events unfolded on the busy Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, where cow protectors, acting on a tip-off, began chasing a pickup jeep suspected of smuggling cattle from Rajasthan. The pursuit intensified as the smugglers opened fire.
Sonu Sarpanch, identified as Sonu Yadav, sustained critical injuries during the pursuit when he attempted to apprehend one of the fleeing smugglers. A bullet struck him in the abdomen. Currently, he is admitted at Medanta Medicity Hospital in Gurugram, where he remains in a critical state.

News of the attack prompted protests outside Medanta Hospital, where community members expressed anger and demanded justice for Sonu Sarpanch. Calls for increased security measures for cow protectors echoed through the gathering, highlighting concerns over their safety amidst escalating incidents of cow smuggling in Nuh district.
Nuh Superintendent of Police Narendra Bijarnia confirmed that an FIR will be filed soon regarding the incident, underscoring the severity with which law enforcement views the attack. Hindu organization leader Kulbhushan Bhardwaj emphasized the need for licensed weapons for cow protectors, citing the rising threats they face during their operations.
Over recent years, incidents of cow smuggling have surged in Nuh district, with smugglers utilizing new routes like the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway to evade authorities. This incident marks a continuation of ongoing tensions between cow protectors and smugglers in the region, with suspicions pointing towards Rajasthan as the origin of the suspects involved in this deadly encounter.
