According to the daily health bulletin released by the Union Health Ministry, India reported 9,111 new covid cases and 6,313 recoveries in the last 24 hours with active cases now standing at 60,313. The total active cases are 0.13 percent of the total cases reported in the country.As per the latest reports, India has registered fewer Covid cases which were 10,093 yesterday. With this, the active cases on Monday have seen a jump from 57,542 to 69,313. 27 deaths have been reported, bringing the total number of fatalities to 5,31,141. Six deaths were reported from Gujarat, four from Uttar Pradesh, three each from Delhi and Rajasthan, two from Maharashtra, one from each of Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu, and three were reconciled by Kerala, according to data updated by the authorities.According to the union health ministry, India has seen a slight decline in cases. On Sunday, India recorded 10,093 covid cases, on Saturday, 10,753 new covid cases were detected, while on Friday, the count of the new cases was 11,109 cases.Vaccines administered in the countryUnder the nationwide vaccine drive, the total Covid vaccination doses administered in the last 24 hours is 198, making it a total of 220.66 crores. The recovery rate is also standing at 98.68 percent which is 4,42,35,772 in terms of numbers.Covid Positivity rateThe daily positivity rate in the country now stands at 8.40 percent and the weekly positivity rate at 4.94 percent. Having conducted 1,08,436 tests in the last 24 hours Indias total Covid Tests conducted increased to 92.41 crores.Medical professionals have warned that the new variety XBB1.16 is able to avoid the immune system of people during the spike in Covid cases, and the next four weeks will be extremely important for India. The AIIMS Director claims that the circumstance is not causing alarm.Dr Randeep Guleria, former director of AIIMS, Delhi said that the covid cases have been on the rise in the past few days. But the majority of the infections are mild. Hospitalisation has also not gone high which means that panic-like situation does not come yet.Although, people are aware of the guidelines, governments are still making efforts to make people aware of the protocols so they dont get infected by the virus.Guidelines for the workplacesThe recommendations for companies include the use of sanitisers, adequate office cleaning, thermal temperature scanners at office entrances, and the ability for employees who exhibit symptoms of a cold, cough, fever, or flu to work from home with the suggestion that they undergo a Covid test. Additionally, it recommended that people refrain from unnecessary physical contact, such as shaking hands or hugging others, and maintain cleanliness around them.Face mask mandatorySchools, colleges, bus stops, depots, railroad stations, movie theatres, shopping centres, and cafeterias are all subject to the recommendations for wearing face masks, practicing social distancing, and other Covid protocols. Offices and institutions are advised to have sanitizers and thermal scanners at the entrances.Experts suggest wearing a double-layered mask can help in preventing infection at places like hospitals. They also suggest home isolation for 7 days to the patients complaining about symptoms of sore throat, cold, cough and fever.After witnessing the spike in the covid cases over the past few days, doctors suggest wearing masks in crowded places, even some state governments have made it mandatory.
