AAP Senior Leader and Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha has strongly condemned the horrific spate of violence in Manipur.

Reacting to the video of two women being assaulted, he said, “The incident has put humanity to shame”. On being asked about the silence of the NDA partners on the issue, he said, “It is being reported that at least 10 out of the 38 parties attending the NDA meet while Manipur was burning were themselves from the North East or had a presence there, but did any of them dare to ask the PM why Manipur was burning?”, he asked.

Expressing his deep concern, Raghav Chadha said that content featuring the brutal violence that has engulfed the north-eastern state is surfacing every other day.

Launching a scathing attack on the Prime Minister’s silence on Manipur, Chadha said that the PM, who tweets about even small incidents across the world, hadn’t commented on the violence within India’s border for almost 80 days.

He further attacked the BJP-led central government and state government in Manipur over their denial of the situation. “The double engine government, as they call it, has only resulted in double the destruction, double the brutality, and double the exploitation,” he said, pointing out the neglect faced by Manipur despite its significance as a border state.
