Security has been intensified in Ayodhya, the hub of Ram Navami processions, with arrangements ranging from traffic management to fire equipment, drones and CCTV cameras. Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police Prashant Kumar directed local police to identify vulnerable spots and arrange coordination with religious heads to enable smooth celebrations.
Mumbai has deployed more than 13,500 policemen, including 11,000 constables, 2,500 personnel and 51 assistant commissioners of police, to maintain law and order during festivities.Nine SRPF platoons and special companies have also been deployed and drones are tracking processions in the areas of Malvani and Malad.
Kolkata has increased security for more than 50 rallies, five of them major processions, with another 5,000 police personnel deployed. Police Commissioner Manoj Verma has assessed preparations, ensuring adequate security measures are in place.
Odisha has heightened security in sensitive locations such as Sambalpur, Cuttack, Balasore and Bhadrak, with more than 15 platoons of police, BSF and CRPF personnel, along with CCTV cameras and drones, to keep watch over the festivities.
