New Delhi: A viral video capturing a fire brigade vehicle filling a water tank at a residence purportedly belonging to IPS officer Archana Tyagi has ignited a heated debate. The footage, shot on East Canal Road in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, prominently displays the nameplate of IPS officer Archana Tyagi at the residence.Archana Tyagi, a distinguished 1993 batch IPS officer of the Maharashtra cadre, is renowned for her formidable reputation in law enforcement, earning her the moniker of a supercop. Notably, she served as the inspiration behind the character portrayed by actor Rani Mukerji in the 2019 film Mardaani 2.Video sparks criticism In response to the widespread circulation of the video, Additional Director General of Police Amit Sinha disclosed that an investigation has been launched to ascertain the circumstances under which the fire brigade vehicle was deployed to supply water to the officers residence. Sinha urged caution against premature conclusions, emphasizing that the authenticity of the video is currently under scrutiny. What Chief fire officer said Chief Fire Officer Vansh Bahadur Yadav offered clarification, stating that the incident occurred on June 15 in response to a reported LPG leak at the residence in question. At the time, Archana Tyagis parents were present at the house. Yadavs explanation, however, has not assuaged the public skepticism stirred by the video. Social media platforms have become platforms for widespread speculation and criticism, with questions arising over the appropriateness of fire brigade resources being utilized to fill private water tanks.
