The inaugural session of the newly constituted Congress Working Committee (CWC) commenced in Hyderabad on Saturday. Indian National Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s slammed the Modi government’s performance across various fronts. Kharge accused the government of failing in inflation control, unemployment, increasing violence in Manipur, rising inequality, and the deteriorating conditions of farmers and laborers.

In his opening remarks at the Congress Working Committee Meeting in Hyderabad, Kharge addressed the ongoing tragic events in Manipur and criticized the Modi government for allowing the situation to escalate to Nuh in Haryana. He stated that these incidents blemish the image of a modern, progressive, and secular India.

Furthermore, Kharge emphasized that the nation stands at a critical juncture, facing numerous internal challenges, including the unrest in Manipur. He reiterated that the Modi government’s handling of these issues has cast a shadow on India’s image as a modern and secular nation.

“The country is at a crossroads today, facing many internal challenges. The entire nation is witnessing the tragic events still unfolding in Manipur. The Modi government allowed the fire in Manipur to reach Nuh in Haryana. These incidents tarnish the image of modern, progressive, and secular India”, Kharge stated.

Accusing the Modi government of failing to deliver on crucial fronts, Kharge commended Rahul Gandhi’s “Bharat Jodo Yatra” for its efforts to bridge communal divides.

Kharge expressed concern about the country’s economy, noting that the rising prices of essential commodities are adversely affecting the common people. He also accused the government of privatizing valuable public sector undertakings (PSUs) that were built since India’s independence, handing them over to a select group of crony capitalists.

Meanwhile, the success of the three meetings of the INDIA bloc and noted that the attacks from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other BJP leaders demonstrate the alliance’s effectiveness. He emphasized that as the alliance progresses, attacks from the BJP will intensify, but the 27 INDIA bloc parties remain united on fundamental issues of significance.

Former Congress presidents Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, and General Secretaries K C Venugopal and Jairam Ramesh are among the leaders present at the meeting.
