New Delhi: On September 8, the Congress party unveiled its second list of nine candidates for the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections. The state, which has 90 seats, will vote in a single phase on October 5, with the votes being counted on October 8.

The newly announced candidates include Mohit Grover for Gurugram, Ashok Arora for Thanesar, Kuldeep Sharma for Ganaur, Brijendra Singh for Tohana, and Manju Choudhary for the Nangal Chaudhary seat, among others.

Congress’ first list, Vinesh Phogat’s political entry

This comes shortly after Congress released its first list of 31 candidates on September 6. The announcement followed the induction of Olympic wrestler Vinesh Phogat and Tokyo Olympics medalist Bajrang Punia into the party by senior leader KC Venugopal.

Phogat has quickly made her political debut, being fielded as the candidate for the Julana seat. "I am deeply grateful for the love and respect I've received. My focus is to work for the betterment of people and alleviate their struggles," she said during a campaign event on Sunday.
