Congress releases Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh candidate list for upcoming polls

The National Congress Party released its second and third list of candidates for the upcoming Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh Assembly Elections on Sunday. The second list for Rajasthan includes 43 candidates while the Chhattisgarh list includes 7,

Rajasthan election candidates

The ruling party has fielded Govind Ram Meghwal from Khajuwala, Pratap Singh Khachariyawas from Civil Lines and Parsadi Lal Meena from Lolsot. Besides, Congress has fielded Former Chief Secretary of Rajasthan Niranjan Arya from the Sojat constituency. He is considered a close associate of Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.

Earlier on Saturday, the Congress released its first list of 33 candidates for Rajasthan Assembly elections, naming Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot, state party chief Govind Singh Dotasra and Speaker CP Joshi.

Chhattisgarh election candidates

The third and final list of candidates for the Chhattisgarh Assembly elections was released by the Congress on Sunday. It includes 7 candidates, taking the total number of candidates in the state to 90. The third list includes Smt. Ambica Singh Deo, Smt Chaturi Nand, Sandeep Sahu, Dr Rashmi Chandrakar, Kuldeep Juneja, Smt Ambika Markam and Omkar Sahu.

Earlier after the 2018 assembly polls, the Congress witnessed a landslide victory winning 68 seats out of 90 of those against the then ruling-BJP, which acquired 15 seats.

The polls for Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan Assembly elections will take place on November 17 and November 25 respectively. However, out of the five states that will see polling in the upcoming month, polling in Chhattisgarh will be held in two phases.
